Professionals of different backgrounds and socioeconomic levels are prioritizing the need for intentional, positive, inclusive relationships in order to foster self-managed and communities. At Solutions By Cadenas, LLC. we want to expose as many of those professionals and decision makers to Restorative Practices and circles as staples to the communities they are striving to create. By honoring and learning "Peacemaking" as an ancient indigenous communication practice that is effective, participants discover affinities with one another resulting in solidified bonds, and earned trust. As a collective, they are able to arrive at not only pertinent preemptive questions, but also their pertinent answers. Restorative approaches produce solutions for our future with consistency...
Among the services Solutions By Cadenas provides, you may choose to:
Solutions By Cadenas, LLC does not edify on Restorative Practices with "one and done" sessions... We build community in an attempt to forge life-long partnerships. We realize the need for on-going support, motivation and accountability, and actively defend such need whether it is for our youth or adult learners.
"Solutions" is a community-based organization that seeks to stay in-touch as a melanated-owned, intentionally for-profit organization that knows the community, and offers the knowledge of educating our youth, our people, our culture...
We use that knowledge and its applicability within educational spaces to anyone that finds value in authentic relationships. In return, Solutions By Cadenas aims to over deliver!

Restorative Justice (RJ) in its most basic, true nature, is known as "Peacekeeping." It is an ancient Indigenous practice. Contrary to popular belief, it is NOT to be used as a tool and must not undergo appropriation. At Solutions by Cadenas, LLC. we acknowledge it purely as a tradition of the Tsetsaut, Tagish and Tlinglit nations of the Pacific Northwest of what is now known as Canadian territories. They are its creators and original practitioners. Aboriginal belief professes a deep connection between justice and spirituality. In both, it is essential to maintain and/or restore harmony and balance amongst all entities!
Restorative Justice (RJ) is not a novelty. It is an immemorial practice that precedes our existence on this planet. Contrary to society's more pervasive Eurocentric justice, RJ mirrors the practices of "peacemaking" of the Tsetsaut, Tagish and Tlingit. It views offenses beyond punishment or retributive justice's "crime" or "breaking the law" – which causes immeasurable harm to individuals, families, and larger communities. Therefore, RJ is a response that addresses the harm, those affected by it, the wrongdoing as well as its causer. When the parties involved are willing, it intends to help them meet to discuss and amend such harms and mitigate mutual resolution. Victims, offenders and their supporters gather to get to the bottom of a grievance.
In the classroom, however, RJ decenters the teacher, while empowering scholars to resolve conflict on their own, as a collective. It is a powerful, yet slowly-catching practice at schools around the country. Pioneered in Oakland, by the Restorative Justice for Oakland Youth (RJOY) in California, USA. Essentially, the idea is to bring scholars together in peer-mediated small groups to talk, ask questions, air their grievances, but most importantly, to bring about solutions to such grievances.
Indeed, I do. But, there is a community behind me! For example, I was formally trained in 2016 by brother Afam Ayika of the Rainier Beach Restorative Justice Project, whom had in turn been trained by Restorative Justice for Oakland Youth (CA). He has participated in thousands of Peacemaking circles. With community members like him, I have adopted not just the practice, but the lifestyle way beyond the walls of my classroom... He, like other colleagues and partners are often contributors in our modules. It is our passion to impart such devout belief in RJ to professionals of all realms across the Pacific Northwest and throughout "Turtle Island" a.k.a this nation. Personally, I bring everything have learned along the way; but more importantly all of what my scholars and families have taught me through circles to cause a concerted, positive change in our field and this planet...
