Professionals from different backgrounds and socioeconomic levels are prioritizing the need for intentional, positive, inclusive relationships as they strive to foster self-managed communities. At Solutions By Cadenas. we expose as many of those professionals and decision makers to Restorative Practices and circles as staples to the communities they are looking to create. Solutions By Cadenas prioritizes learning the history of "Peacemaking", while honoring it as an ancient indigenous communication practice. Our participants inevitably discover affinities with one another, resulting in more cohesive bonds, and earned trust. As a collective, they arrive at not only pertinent preemptive questions to pose, but also their pertinent answers. Restorative efforts bring forth solutions with consistency...
Among the services Solutions By Cadenas provides, you may choose to:
Solutions By Cadenas does not edify on Restorative approaches with "one and done" type of professional development... We concertedly build community in an attempt to forge life-long partnerships. We realize the need for on-going coaching, motivation and accountability for educators, and actively defend such need whether our learners are young, or "young at heart".
"Solutions" is a community-based organization that seeks to stay in-touch as a melanated-owned, intentionally for-profit organization that knows the community, and offers the knowledge of educating our youth, our people, our culture...
We use that knowledge and applicability within traditional educational spaces to assist anyone that finds value in authentic relationships. In return, Solutions By Cadenas aims to over deliver!

Restorative Justice (RJ) in its most basic and true nature was known as "Peacekeeping". It is, and will forever be an ancient Indigenous practice that must not subjected to appropriation. Contrary to popular belief, RJ is NOT a substitute to discipline. At Solutions by Cadenas, we acknowledge it purely as the legacy of the Tagish and Tlinglit nations from what is colonially known as Canada. The Tagish and the Tlingit are its true originators. It was their belief that professed a deep connection between justice and spirituality. To both nations, it is essential to respect the land and maintain and/or restore harmony and balance on it.
Restorative Justice (RJ) is not a novelty. It is an immemorial practice that precedes my existence on this planet. Contrary to society's more pervasive Eurocentric justice, RJ mirrors the practices of "peacemaking", which views offenses beyond punishment, or retributive justice to committing crime or breaking the law; causing unmeasurable harm to individuals, families, and larger communities. Therefore, RJ is a response that addresses the harm, those affected by it, as well as its causers. When the parties involved are willing, RJ intends to help them discuss amendments to such harm, in the form of mitigations to arrive at a mutual resolution. Victims, offenders and their supporters then gather to restitute the grievance.
However, in educational spaces as in classrooms, RJ becomes Restorative Practices, where they decenter the educator, while empowering scholars to resolve conflict as a collective. It is such a powerful practice at numerous schools around the country, even though it was pioneered in Oakland, CA, USA by the Restorative Justice for Oakland Youth (RJOY). Nonetheless, the idea is to essentially empower youth in peer-attended groups to discuss aired grievances, and most importantly, to bring about solutions...
Indeed! Yet, there is a community behind me! For example, I partner with fellow educators such as Sister Fernell Miller from The Root of Us. As a tandem, we facilitate trainings and have participated in thousands of circles. With community members like her, I have adopted not just the practice, but the lifestyle beyond the confines of traditional classrooms within formal schools. She, like many I collaborate with are often co-trainers when render services. It is my passion to share my devout belief in RJ to professionals of all realms across the Pacific Northwest. I personally bring all of my life experience, along with what I've learned along the way as a professional. Most importantly, I apply what I've been taught by most precious teachers; thousands of scholars in nearly 20 years as a certificated high school educator. Along with their families, young learners have impacted my pedagogy, consequently igniting a intentional fight for positive change in any educational spaces I find myself in, and ultimately the world!
